Tell me about yourself…

Driving five hours for a job interview may seem a bit extreme, but graduating students can be desperate. Looking at the Minnesota PRSA website, I found a link to a job titled, “Communication and Marketing Assistant Coordinator” for the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities.

PERFECT! I had been a part of The YMCA since, well… forever, and the Twin Cities is where I’m moving after graduation. Once I got the call requesting an interview (ironically, I was in a PRSSA meeting at the time), I eagerly drove five hours for the interview.

The person I was interviewing with was really excited to tell me about her involvement  in PRSSA while she was in college.  I don’t know if it’s true in my particular case, but in this video Professor Danielle Bina said, “a resume with PRSSA on it goes to the top of the pile.”
