Erika Hesselink and Brooke Iserloth presented at the UW System Symposium for Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity on Friday.
“I presented on Film Director Steven Spielberg and focused on three of his films:Ā E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds.Ā I analyzed them critically to focus on a main theme of how children came out stronger by fighting against the supernatural – and learning valuable lessons along the way.”
“The symposium went really well – for the most part. I was surrounded by a lot of Psychology and Science Majors – hardly had anyone interested in my research – but IĀ believe more Comm Majors should be more involved with symposiums because we should be exposing everyone to different research, scholarly and creative activity – and not just in the sciences.”
“If more Comm Majors presented, we would provide a variety of options for people to learn about what we do in our department and soon, what we’ll be doing for a living in the future.”Ā ERIKA š
